Decide Yourself or Take It to the Boss?

What action would you take in each of the following situations?

1.An important lunch meeting is scheduled for your boss and the vice president she reports to. On the day of the meeting, your boss is tied up all morning in a client conference. A call comes from the catering service responsible for handling the luncheon. The caterer cannot provide the entrée originally requested but suggests an alternative. Do you get your boss out of her conference call or do you take on the responsibility yourself?
