Survey: Most Workers Hate Office Activities and Annoying Co-Workers
Even if you like your job overall, there is likely a couple of things you find really annoying about your workplace. And you aren’t alone. A recent survey found that almost three-quarters of employees can’t stand at least one activity they’re required to do in the office, such as team-building activities.
Not surprisingly, the majority of people are also annoyed by some co-workers, especially those who complain a lot.
Seems like these workers might be better off working at home—and they would like to, but half of the survey respondents said they didn’t think their employers would agree to letting them do that. The survey’s organizers theorize that most of those employees haven’t actually made a request to telecommute, but they are assuming their bosses wouldn’t be open to it. Then again, considering some employees who do work from home admit to watching TV or doing household chores while they are “working,” perhaps the employers’ concerns would be understandable.
The line between work and personal time also seems to be getting increasingly blurry. Nearly three-fourths of employees say they answer work-related emails while on vacation. However, a small percentage admits to napping while on the clock or ducking out on work to exercise.
