Tech Tip: Bluebeam Software
If you often need to create or work with PDF files, you know it can sometimes be a hassle to markup or edit these types of files. This is especially true if the files need to be reviewed by several different staff members or teams.
Bluebeam Software can help take the headaches out of this process. Bluebeam Revu is a software program designed to make it easy for you to create, markup, edit and collaborate in a paperless way through the use of PDF files. You can easily edit text, apply headers and footers, assemble files and add, move or delete pages.
You have lots of editing and markup options through the program’s tools such as text, notes, highlighter, clouds, stamps and callouts. The program is also designed to allow for easy navigation within and between files. There is also a batch feature that lets you convert an unlimited number of files from other programs (such as Microsoft Office) all at once. The program also includes features specifically designed to table users.
There is also a CAD version of the program, specifically designed for engineering, architecture and design firms that use AutoCAD and similar programs. And then there’s the eXtreme version, designed for power users who need advanced features and options.
If you need help, the site’s Bluebeam University provides video tutorials, tips and other resources. Another handy tip: the site has an ROI calculator that lets you see how much money you would save by avoiding wasted man hours that would otherwise be spent trying to edit these documents.
